On May 8, 1959, the dynamic husband and wife team, Mike and Marian Ilitch, opened the first Little Caesars Pizza restaurant in Garden City, Michigan.
In 1962, the Ilitches sold the first Little Caesars franchise.
In 1969, Little Caesars became an international chain with the opening of its first restaurant in Canada, in Waterloo, Ontario.
By the end of 1969, Little Caesars had 65 restaurants and had expanded into Ohio and Indiana.
Outstanding value has been the key to Little Caesars success, especially with the introduction of Pizza!Pizza!® in the mid 1970s, offering a great value to consumers.
Little Caesars made the "buy one get one free" concept a marketing mainstay in the fast food industry with its introduction of Pizza!Pizza!
By the end of 1987, Little Caesars was truly a national chain with restaurants in all 50 states.
Little Caesars is known for its many innovations in the fast food industry. It was the first pizza restaurant to serve pizza in minutes at lunch, to have a drive-through/pick-up window, and to operate in a stadium.
In 2004, Little Caesars launched the popular HOT-N-READY® pizza offer – a pepperoni or cheese pizza ready when the customer is; no need to call ahead and no wait.
Little Caesars is a good corporate citizen in the community, providing jobs and often providing a great experience for young, first-time employees.
The Little Caesars Veterans Program was created in 2006. It provides significant discounts and credits to honorably discharged veterans who are transitioning to civilian life or seeking a career change and want to own their own Little Caesars restaurant.
Little Caesars is aggressively pursuing expansion in both the domestic and international marketplaces.
Little Caesars philosophy is to give back to the community by supporting many charities, family causes, and youth sports.
